An America Without Christ

Regarding the Christmas Holiday Season we are in, I was reflecting on this somber thought;

What if Jesus had not come to earth?

What if the Father had changed His mind and saved only His chosen people, the Jews?  It is rather easy to imagine an America without Christ as Savior, for many people here today choose to live a life void of Him. They want a life free from God and constant preaching from Christians!

But look beyond the wish of some, and reflect on this Nation without Jesus the Christ at all.  This Nation would be very different!  There might still be Christmas, although we certainly wouldn’t call it by that name. There might be a Holiday, but there would be no carols proclaiming joy to the world. There would be no rejoicing over what the shepherds witnessed the night of His birth.  But really, that’s just scratching the surface of the horrors for us in a Country without the Messiah. We as Gentiles would be doomed as far as salvation is concerned. Sadly, only His chosen children, those born of the Abrahamic bloodline and those who are descendants of Jacob and the twelve tribes, would have hope of eternity.

In a country absent of Christ, if there were an America, it wouldn’t have been founded by pioneers who wished to escape the religious constraints of the Church of England because that Church wouldn’t exist. No Catholic Church or Vatican, and no Pope.  And there would be no Protestant Churches either.  Only religions which bypass the worship of Jesus as God’s own Son would be prevalent.

If America had been founded, the Founding Fathers would not have used the Bible or their faith in God in creating the documents that we now abide by.  As a matter of fact, we wouldn’t even have bibles. There would be no New Testament, for He didn’t come.  And there certainly would be no point in Gentiles studying the Old Testament apart from historical significance.

We would look like other Third World Countries ruled by Dictators. You might counter with the argument that there are presently people with good morals who don’t believe in God. Though that’s true, they are a minority.  Doubt me?  Look no further than Hollywood.

Certainly prisons would be more overcrowded than they are, with lawlessness running rampant. You disagree?  Check the New Testament and see how many people were demon possessed when Jesus began His ministry.  In every town and village He entered, there were countless people He delivered from demons. A staggering number of people were possessed!  And I’m certain those numbers would be far more escalated today. Remember, this earth is Satan’s Kingdom.

We would have no day of rest or day of worship set aside to honor the God of Moses. We would have no structures in place other than for those who worship Buddha or Allah or some other diety.  But those religions don’t offer the promise of eternal life with the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Israel.  I doubt we would have buildings expressly built to allow someone to kneel in a reverent setting and pray to the God of the Old Testament. There would be no crosses on tombstones or monuments as there would be no reason to symbolize a cross; without His coming it would have no meaning. We might have temples built to worship the Sun or the Moon or some other false deity that someone has carved.  I imagine Satanic Temples would dot the landscape as well. Some might even be sacrificing children on altars.

For Christians with no Christ to follow, we would live in a society filled with darkness and depression. A society with no hope in their eternity. A society with no value placed on their life. I rarely can go 30 minutes without talking to the Lord or thanking Him for something; I simply can not imagine living a lifetime without prayer!  Can you comprehend how hollow your life would be if you couldn’t turn to the Lord for healing, or comfort, or wisdom and instruction?  Imagine having no one to plead with for the safety and protection of your children.  Mercy would not be in our vocabulary.  I doubt the word grace would exist either.  The cross was grace personified!

Unfortunately, having a godless society is what some in America desire. They want to be completely free from Jesus. Luckily for them, they will be TOTALLY free from the Lord or any mention of Him one day. And that’s a day they will dread for all eternity!  But they seemingly choose their fate gladly.

But for Christians, the good news is that we DO rejoice this Holiday Season because He DID come!  Jesus WAS sent by the Father!  He came and gave His life so that we ALL can be grafted in to the family of His beloved and chosen people. We now can all be saved!  We can rejoice that we DO live in a Godly Nation!  We can proudly sing God bless America at baseball games. We can recite a Pledge of Allegiance proudly noting we are a Nation under God.  We can attend Churches of our choice and freely worship the Lord!  And we can live in a society of hope because Jesus came!

So rejoice this Christmas Season!  Praise the Lord at the top of your voice!  He brought us hope. He brought us eternal life! He provided us the ability to live in a nation founded on Christian principles!  Let joy fill your heart this year as you celebrate Christmas, and be very grateful for this account in Luke…..

“That night there were shepherds staying in the fields nearby, guarding their flocks of sheep. Suddenly, an angel of the Lord appeared among them, and the radiance of the Lord’s glory surrounded them. They were terrified, but the angel reassured them. “Don’t be afraid!” he said. “I bring you good news that will bring great joy to all people. The Savior—yes, the Messiah, the Lord—has been born today in Bethlehem, the city of David!”

‭‭Luke‬ ‭2:8-11‬ ‭NLT‬

Rejoice, Christian!  We ALL benefit from a Godly Society whose masses worship Christ!  Let this song be in your heart this Christmas Season…..

Joy to the world, the Lord is come

Let earth receive her King.

Let every heart, prepare Him room

And Heaven and nature sing

And Heaven and nature sing

And Heaven, and Heaven, and nature sing.
