Putting The “Give” In Thanksgiving

Horn Lake, Ms
Thanksgiving came early for 30 families in Southaven and Horn Lake today thanks to some great neighbors.
Members of the Horn Lake Masonic Lodge 617 spent Saturday morning preparing Thanksgiving baskets for families that needed a little extra help this year in making their family meal.
“We made 30 baskets with all the fixings” said George Dixon, long time member of the lodge, adding, “a lot of folks fall through the cracks this time of year and we just wanted to help make their holiday special”.

The Masons spent most of Saturday morning making those special deliveries and were greeted with smiles and a few tears.
One woman, who asked to not be identified said, “I didn’t know what I would have done if it hadn’t been for these kind men – Money just don’t go as far as it use to” adding, “these guys are a real blessing!”.
The Lodge worked with Alderman Charlie Hoots of Southaven and Alderman Chigger White from Horn Lake to find the families that received the baskets.
