Man Charged With Domestic Assault After High Speed Chase

Officers with the Southaven Police Department responded to a domestic assault call from a woman who was at the Wells Fargo Bank on Goodman and Elmore around noon Thursday.
Captain Mark Little with the Southaven Police Department said, “There was a domestic where the male had been holding a female with a knife. Assaulted her and was threatening to kill her”.
The suspect, Ty Stanford Brooks, 35, fled the scene when police arrived and led officers on a high-speed chase that lasted about 10 to 15 minutes.
He was stopped at Tulane and Dean Road after police had deployed stop sticks to disable his vehicle and was taken into custody.
The victim’s injuries are unknown at this time but there were no other injuries.
Brooks faces the following charges from Southaven, Improper Passing, Reckless Driving, Running Red Light, Unsafe Operation of Motor Vehicle, Felony Fleeing by Motor Vehicle, Felony DUI.
He is also facing charges in Horn Lake on the Domestic Assault and possible Kidnapping.
