Lies Versus Truth
Most of us have experienced being lied to on some level. But have you ever been lied to about something critically important, and when the truth came out, your whole world crumbled? Do you remember how you felt when you learned the truth? Do you remember the shock, the rage, the unbelief? Do you recall how your mind raced in disbelief as you looked back, trying to sort it out, trying to make sense of how you believed the lies? You wondered how you could have been so stupid and so blind as to not see the truth? Do you remember the emotions once reality sat in?
If you experienced that, then you know how disastrous it can be to learn the truth after believing repeated lies. If you’ve not had that experience then be grateful. However, perhaps you are not a Christian and you’re reading this. Maybe you don’t know if God is real. Maybe you have believed lies from agnostic Scientists or liberal Professors telling you God isn’t real. Perhaps you’ve watched countless documentaries on our World around us, and they’ve been very thorough in showing you God couldn’t possibly exist. Maybe someone you love and admire, like a Parent, doesn’t believe in God, and you look up to them; maybe they’ve been right about other things so they must be right about God as well, and so you agree. Maybe you bought into the culture of most of the Hollywood Elite who believe that there’s no God and no life after death. Maybe you just aren’t sure because you haven’t seen any proof to lead you to believe otherwise.
Imagine then, how you’ll feel when you do learn at the end of your life that He IS real. Your mind will race back to the times we Christians tried to tell you….warn you…..that wrath was coming unless you confessed your sins. Panic will set in as you scramble in your thoughts to go back over your memories. You’ll try to remember what we said. You’ll try to see where you failed to believe, but it will be too late. The shock and disbelief will turn to fear and horror as you learn your fate; an eternity without love or joy, only torment!
Yet the good news is, it’s not too late. Not yet. There’s still time to seek Him, since you’re still alive and still with us. You’ll find He is VERY real! There’s still time for you to approach Him. There’s still time for you to seek Him to learn the truth. God made us this promise in the book of Jeremiah…..
“You will seek Me and find Me when you search for Me with all your heart.”
Jeremiah 29:13
It’s not too late to study the Bible for yourself. It’s not too late to believe. Then, when you are face to face with Him at the end of your life here on earth, you will be safe from His wrath, and you’ll enter into an eternity filled with joy. All because you found your Savior before it was too late! You discovered the truth while there was still time! Stop believing the lies! He is real and He wants a relationship with you!
And that’s the way I see it.
