There’s a better day a’ comin’.

There IS a better day coming!

No matter what you’re going through, or where you find yourself, or what you’re having to endure, there is a better tomorrow in store.

That’s not meant to be a rhetorical statement. It’s not meant to brush aside what you’re going through, and downplay your suffering. It’s not meant as a slap on the back adding a ‘good ‘ol boy’ phrase used in indifference.

You WILL have a better day eventually, no matter what is going on now. The worst that could ever happen is that you could die, and if you know Jesus as personal savior, then EVERY tomorrow is going to be better from here on out for you!

But what if you don’t die; what hope is there for things turning around?

Well, GOD is hope!! Listen to Paul…..

“Now may the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, so that you will abound in hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.”
‭‭Romans‬ ‭15:13

Wouldn’t it be wonderful to abound in hope?? Paul’s wish or desire for every Christian is what can keep us from giving up on life when we despair. The hope that the Holy Spirit will respond to us and fill us with even more hope. We can hope because the Lord holds tomorrow! He is already there before we get there. He has already seen how situations will turn out and He’s waiting for us to rally with our faith.

But how do we muster faith if we are simply empty inside? How do we rally if we’re depressed? How do we rally if we just can’t believe it’s going to get any better?

There’s only one way you’ll be able to overcome your lack of hope and your dismal view of the future… must study and believe the word of God! You must believe that it was written for you and with you in mind! You must believe the promises of God are real and can happen for you!

Not easy. Not easy at all. If you’re sick and getting worse; if your unable to work because of that sickness, and you’re losing pay and the ability to support yourself, then you’re in a spot where it could be almost impossible to conjure up faith. There would be no hope for you at all, if not for the fact you have promises written for you that can be found in the scriptures. You can’t just pat yourself on the back and say “it’s gonna’ be alright” if you don’t really believe it yourself. So what do you do? If you’ve exhausted your faith, and you’ve never really seen God move in your life before now, how can you believe it will happen for you?

Well, I’m afraid you’re not going to like the answer…..but you MUST BELIEVE REGARDLESS! You must believe that the promises ARE for you! You must believe scriptural promises of healing or restoration or deliverance or blessings ARE for you! You must dredge up faith from the very depths of your being, if you’re ever going to come out on the other side of this trial or trauma you’re enduring.
You must believe, if for no other reason than this; to not believe, or to have NO faith, won’t move the hand of God at all in your life…..

“And without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is and that He is a rewarder of those who seek Him.”
‭‭Hebrews‬ ‭11:6

“It is impossible to please Him.” Harsh words for someone who desperately needs God, yet is told their unbelief is displeasing to Him. You will need outside help if you’re ever going to have the faith necessary to overcome. That outside help is the Word!
There’s no magic formula. There’s no twelve step program. You just must from deep within yourself vow that you’re going to believe God’s word no matter what the circumstances! That regardless of what you are hearing or seeing, that the word of God IS true, and that it’s true for YOU, and there IS a better day coming!!
Paul said it’s about faith, not about what you’re seeing…..

“for we walk by faith, not by sight-”
‭‭2 Corinthians‬ ‭5:7

So what are His promises? Let’s look at some of them found in the word that are for you…..

“Now to Him who is able to do far more abundantly beyond all that we ask or think, according to the power that works within us,”
‭‭Ephesians‬ ‭3:20

“And do not seek what you will eat and what you will drink, and do not keep worrying. For all these things the nations of the world eagerly seek; but your Father knows that you need these things. But seek His kingdom, and these things will be added to you.”
‭‭Luke‬ ‭12:29-31

“Do not be afraid, little flock, for your Father has chosen gladly to give you the kingdom.”
‭‭Luke‬ ‭12:32

“Are not two sparrows sold for a cent? And yet not one of them will fall to the ground apart from your Father. But the very hairs of your head are all numbered. So do not fear; you are more valuable than many sparrows.”
‭‭Matthew‬ ‭10:29-31

“Come to Me, all who are weary and heavy-laden, and I will give you rest. Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and YOU WILL FIND REST FOR YOUR SOULS. For My yoke is easy and My burden is light.””
‭‭Matthew‬ ‭11:28-30

“And looking at them Jesus said to them, “With people this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.””
‭‭Matthew‬ ‭19:26

“And all things you ask in prayer, believing, you will receive.””
‭‭Matthew‬ ‭21:22

“And Jesus said to him, ” ‘If You can?’ All things are possible to him who believes.”
‭‭Mark‬ ‭9:23

“Therefore I say to you, all things for which you pray and ask, believe that you have received them, and they will be granted you.”
‭‭Mark‬ ‭11:24

“This is the confidence which we have before Him, that, if we ask anything according to His will, He hears us. And if we know that He hears us in whatever we ask, we know that we have the requests which we have asked from Him.”
‭‭1 John‬ ‭5:14-15

There are dozens more! Read them and remind yourself as you do they are promises for YOU! They were written by the Holy Spirit with you in mind. They were written knowing you would be where you are, and that you would need to hear that He cares for you and that He is able to do something about your situation, and further, that He desires to!

And that’s the way I see it!
