Tis The Season To Be Jolly

Commerce Street in Hernando was filled with several thousand people Monday night for the 60th Annual Hernando Christmas Parade.

The two hour long parade had close to 100 participants that left the crowd with holiday cheer in their hearts and lots of candy in the children’s pockets.

“The weather is wonderful for a parade”, said Peggy Johnson from Hernando with her children, Adam and Ann.

There was something for everyone, from fire trucks to ole time tractors. Hernando High School marching band was on hand with Christmas tunes to thrill the crowd. And, what would a parade be without our elected officials and beauty queens. Of course the highlight of the parade was Jolly Ole Saint Nick.
