The Trinity

One of the beautiful attributes of the Trinity is that They are in complete unison as the Trinity. They are in perfect harmony and unity at all times. The Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit agree on all things! They never dispute each other or have any level of dissent or discord amongst Themselves. They work and flow and operate as One being, yet They are three distinct and separate Persons. Think of it this way; the Father was the Master Architect. He designed and had the ultimate say in all construction in the beginning. Jesus was the Contractor. His role was to carry out the will of the Father, seeing to it that His plans were executed exactly as designed. Yes, as a surprise to some, Jesus created the Universe and all that is in it for the Father’s pleasure; reference the following scriptures to confirm that fact….

“In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was in the beginning with God. All things came into being through Him, and apart from Him nothing came into being that has come into being.”
‭‭John‬ ‭1:1-3‬

“For by Him all things were created, both in the heavens and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or rulers or authorities-all things have been created through Him and for Him. He is before all things, and in Him all things hold together. He is also head of the body, the church; and He is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead, so that He Himself will come to have first place in everything.”
‭‭Colossians‬ ‭1:16-18

But I digress. Again, Jesus is the Contractor working under the direction of the Father. Jesus then comes to Earth in obedience to the Father and surrenders His life on the cross. After His death, He subsequently rises from the dead conquering death, and the Father steps aside, semi-retiring if you will, while still very active in all affairs. (In a rather crude analogy, it’s similar to when Don Corleone stepped aside in The Godfather and turned everything over to his son Michael, yet still remained his consultant and oversaw operations. Except in the case of the Trinity, the Father was NOT getting older or weaker or needing rest! He had promised the Son He would one day rule over Israel and all the world, and it was time!)

After the Father turned the reigns over to His Son, giving Him absolute authority and judgement over all the Universe, Jesus then sent the Holy Spirit to Earth (see Acts 2) and He is at work here now, dwelling in the hearts of all believers and carrying out the will of the Father in perfect harmony.

In summary the Father is the Architect, Jesus is the Contractor, and the Holy Spirit is the labor or workforce, carrying out the directives of the Father at the command of the Son. Once again, all in perfect harmony and in agreement at all times. So now you have three separate roles all working in unison. The Father is Spirit and He is everywhere, the Son is Lord and reigns on His throne in Heaven, and Holy Spirit is here on earth in the hearts of men.

That said, I will make this statement as adamantly as I can;

YOU NEED THE HOLY SPIRIT TO LEAD YOU!

The Holy Spirit is at all times in the presence of the Father and is at all times listening and then administering the will of the Father. But if you’re not listening to the Holy Spirit, how can you know what the will of the Father is for your life?? How can you possibly know the thoughts of the Father toward you if you’re not hearing them expressed by the Holy Spirit?? How can you know how much He loves you? How can you know which job to take? Which person to marry? Which road to take home?

You MUST be led of the Spirit! Paul said this in Romans….

“For all who are being led by the Spirit of God, these are sons of God.”
‭‭Romans‬ ‭8:14‬

Are you a child of God? Then you must be led by Him! You must ask the Holy Spirit to lead you; to speak to you; to order your steps. And He will do that! And you must LISTEN! His role is to lead you. Look at Jesus’ own words as He described the role of the Holy Spirit….

“I will ask the Father, and He will give you another Helper, that He may be with you forever; that is the Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it does not see Him or know Him, but you know Him because He abides with you and will be in you… John 14:16,17

He is your HELPER! Jesus continued on….

But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My name, He will teach you all things, and bring to your remembrance all that I said to you.”
‭‭John‬ ‭14:26‬

He will remind you of what the word says! And He will exalt Jesus…..

“”When the Helper comes, whom I will send to you from the Father, that is the Spirit of truth who proceeds from the Father, He will testify about Me,”
‭‭John‬ ‭15:26‬

And He is your conscience, speaking to you about right from wrong….

“But I tell you the truth, it is to your advantage that I go away; for if I do not go away, the Helper will not come to you; but if I go, I will send Him to you. And He, when He comes, will convict the world concerning sin and righteousness and judgment;”
John 16:7,8

Remember, He is operating in perfect harmony with the Father and will convey all that He is speaking to you….

“I have many more things to say to you, but you cannot bear them now. But when He, the Spirit of truth, comes, He will guide you into all the truth; for He will not speak on His own initiative, but whatever He hears, He will speak; and He will disclose to you what is to come. He will glorify Me, for He will take of Mine and will disclose it to you.”
‭‭John‬ ‭16:12-14

So again, let me reiterate;

YOU NEED THE HOLY SPIRIT LEADING YOU!

You must listen to that small still voice deep inside you. He’s not an angel sitting on your shoulder whispering; He is the Spirit of God dwelling inside of you in your spirit.. You must listen on the inside. He is gentle and He is a Gentleman. He will never force you to do anything. He will never insult you or reject you or ridicule you. He is Holy though and He is easily grieved. Do not grieve Him with your rejection of Him or your disobedience to His instruction. Do not ignore Him either. He will speak to you if you will listen. Have you ever had a premonition? A sense that you needed to do something or stop doing something? Some might refer to it as a gut feeling or your conscience, but it’s more than likely the Holy Spirit, the Third person of the Trinity, and He’s there to help you!! He is always there for you. To help you. To lead you. To remind you. And to exalt Jesus in your life! Listen to Him! Let Him lead!

And that’s the way I see it!
