Governor Proclaims National Hunting and Fishing Day


Governor Phil Bryant recently signed a proclamation naming September 23 as National Hunting and Fishing Day in the state of Mississippi.

“We want promote the great outdoors here in our State” said Bryant.

“We are so blessed to live in a State with an abundance of wildlife, excellent fishing and some of the most beautiful parks anywhere.”

State Rep Scott Bounds said, “ We need to promote hunting, fishing and all that our parks have to offer in a way that helps to bring families and friends together in a tradition as old as Mississippi itself”.

“I would encourage everyone to just pick a park, rent a cabin, camp out, go fishing or hunting and reconnect with the Mississippi outdoors”.

Southaven’s State Rep Steve Hopkins ( R Dist-7) said he was honored to be part of this monumental event promoting family activities in our state.
