Cyclist Killed In Bolivar County

A bicyclist died Friday after being struck by a car on U.S. Highway 61 South.
Friday, the Bolivar County Sheriff’s Department received several 911 calls that a black male subject riding a bike had been struck by a vehicle near Laughlin Road in Boyle.
According to the sheriffs department, motorists noticed the cyclist swerving into the lane of traffic.
When a vehicle struck the cyclist after motorists tried to dodge him.
He was transported to Bolivar Medical Center where he was pronounced dead.
The sheriffs department did not release his name.
The accident is under investigation.
