The Welcome Center in Hernando on Interstate 55 was celebrating National Travel and Tourism week today.
Tourism week runs from Sunday, May 7 thru Saturday, May 13.
The great folks in Hernando had food and drinks for all that stopped by today for a warm welcome to the State of Mississippi.
Horn Lake Mayor Allen Latimer stopped by to help Bobbie Wilson and her crew welcome travelers and help with the festivities.
The DeSoto County Welcome Center opened in September of 1976.
Its architecture reflects the antebellum South, incorporating moldings, trim and brickwork that were hallmarks of the antebellum style.
