Pinwheels To Prevent Child Abuse

April is National Child Abuse Prevention Month.
Healing Hearts Child Advocacy Center of Southaven has started their Pinwheels for Prevention
campaign with pinwheel gardens like the one at Horn Lake City Hall this week.
During this campaign, pinwheel gardens will be placed around DeSoto and Tate County to display
every child that has received services from them this past year.
They have had 371 children through their doors this last year.
DeSoto County is the 3rd highest in the state of Mississippi for reports of child abuse.
One way the general public can participate in child abuse prevention is to wear a Blue Ribbon
throughout the month of April.
This is a simple way to promote a positive message of supporting families in our communities.
