One Mudbug At A Time To End Human Trafficking

Southaven, MS

The Southaven Arena was filled Friday night with people hoping to put a dent in a pile of Mudbugs and cash in the hands of a group with hopes of ending Human Trafficking.

The 51 South Foundation is a ministry that rescues women off the street trapped in a life of prostitution.

Many times these women can’t leave this lifestyle on their own because of pimps or managers and live their lives in fear.

51 South gives them a way out with housing, education, job training, health care, psychiatric care and substance abuse treatment.

The fundraiser is just one of the ways the group raises money to provide those services.

In 2014 the staff of Southpoint Church saw a need and came up with the plan to put a dent in the 32 Billion dollar a year sex trafficking business.

They are committed to helping women who have been enslaved in prostitution and other forms of sexual exploitation to find safety, recovery, empowerment and redemption their brochure says.
