Southaven School Filled With Kindness

Southaven,MS
This morning Southaven Intermediate School kicked off the Great Kindness Challenge for the second year.
Students were greeted with high-fives and pep rally music as they entered the school this morning.
On hand welcoming them were Police Officers and Fire Fighters, Servicemen, Police Chief Steve Pirtle, Desoto County Supervisor Mark Gardner, Vanessa Lynchard the County Administrator and even Rockey the Redbirds mascot and many more.
The school hopes that the Kindness Challenge will expose its students to the understanding of treating people as they would like to be treated and spreading good will throughout the community.
Students are donating supplies and food to the Southaven Animal Shelter, making Valentine’s Day cards for residents of the nearby Hermitage Gardens Assisted Care facility, and are donating food items for Hunger2Hope, a group that feeds children food for the weekend during the school year.
Its going to be a busy and fun week…
