GreenTech Lays Off Workers

Tunica County,MS

The new year is off to a bad start for some 30 to 40 employees of GreenTech Automotive in Tunica County.

Warehouse employees were called into a meeting earlier this week by managers and told the news that they will no longer be needed.

“This is a terrible way to start the new year” said one of the laid off workers.
“I have worked there for the last 5 years and it was a good paying job”.

The average pay for the warehouse workers was around 14 dollars per hour she says.

Sources tell us that the only employees left at the plant are supervisors and office help.

GreenTech you may remember missed loan repayments to the state last year.

“We really never got the assembly line up and running”. One former employee said.
