Horn Lake, Ms
2018 MHSAA 6A State Champions The Horn Lake Eagles were celebrating Thursday night thanks to a local resident.
Kendall Prewitt of Horn Lake treated a crowd of over 500 players, family and friends to the special night at his event center Myrtle Farms.
Prewitt grew up in the Horn Lake area and is a graduate of Horn Lake High School and former football player himself. He is also a candidate for DeSoto County Supervisor District 4.
The highlight of the festivities was the presentation of their state championship rings, you may remember there was a fund raising effort last year to buy the rings for all the team members.

The Horn Lake Touchdown Club was having a hard time reaching their goal when Prewitt stepped up and paid off the balance of the rings and said he would have a party for them.
“This is a big deal for Horn Lake and DeSoto County and these students deserve to feel special” said Prewitt adding, “I am just happy to be able to play a part in it”.
Jeannette Gordon of the Horn Lake Touchdown Club thanked all of those that made this happy event possible.
Sheriff Bill Rasco expressed his great pride for the team’s accomplishments and told the group “the sky is the limit and you have a great future ahead of them” as he added a warning to stay away from drugs and other trouble.

“It’s a well deserved celebration for the kids and the entire Horn Lake community its their time to shine”, stated Mississippi District 25 Representative Dan Eubanks.
Supervisor Bill Russell even wore his old Horn Lake High football jacket. Russell and Sheriff Bill Rasco both played football for Horn Lake High School when they were students years ago.
In addition to receiving their Championship Rings the players were treated to a cook out, music and a fireworks show.
