Is Racism Ever Right ?

In the contentious and volatile world the present day media lives in, there is a great deal of emphasis on race relations and it seems there is a lot of pitting of races against each other, particularly whites versus blacks. They seem to delight in showing racism in politics, racism in law enforcement, racism in schools, racism in sports etc. There are stories each day featuring apparent acts of racism, and as a result, there are a great number of angry people, mostly on the left.  There are also people who are angry because the President is white. They are convinced he is racist, though there’s no proof. To the contrary, he’s done more for blacks than a former black President did. However, they don’t care. They’re angry that a white man is in power.  But I digress. The truth is there is NO place for racism in our Society!  It is kept alive and fueled by a media with an agenda, an agenda that must continually show that all whites feel they are the superior race, and that all blacks are the victims of such elitism.

Certain of the left think  that if you’re white, you must be a white supremacist. If you’re white and a conservative republican, you’re a Nazi.  And if you’re a white evangelical conservative republican, you probably kill baby rabbits and kittens for the sheer fun of it!

As a white evangelical conservative may I say, speaking for myself only, that I’m not a racist. And I don’t kill baby rabbits or kittens. But alas, my denial is futile simply because I’m a white republican.

So should whites feel they’re better and should blacks hate whites from a Christian viewpoint?  Absolutely NOT!  Because you didn’t make that choice!  If you’re white, stop living your life with guilt, feeling the need to apologize for being white!  If you are white, you didn’t choose that….. GOD DID!  And stop hating whites if you’re black.  It’s okay to be black.  I have many black friends and I love them!  The truth is, they’re not “black” friends, they’re just friends!  They’re great people!  God chose them to be black believe it or not!  Black people are black because God chose them to be black!  White people are white because God chose them to be white. How can you hate a choice God made?  Yes, there are some bad apples in each basket of races, but you don’t condemn an entire race as a result!

It’s okay for white people to be white. Did you ever play cards?  Well, they’re just dealing with the hand they were dealt. And black people are just dealing with the hand THEY were dealt!  It’s okay to be black!  It’s okay to be Latino. It’s okay to be Asian.  It’s okay to be poor.  It’s okay to be wealthy.  It’s okay to be different.  Its okay to look different. It’s okay to be American.  It’s okay to be foreign.  It’s okay to be what God chose you to be.

It’s not okay to hate white people. Ever. Or to hate black people. Ever. When you do hate others, you’re mocking and judging God’s choices. Who are you to judge God?  You’re saying God made mistakes.  But He does keep excellent records, and He’ll eventually rule on such things, and judge and punish evil while rewarding righteousness.

Again, it’s okay to be what God made you to be. Rejoice in His choices. Be grateful.  But stop feeling prideful for being what HE chose you to be.  If you’re black, then maximize the life given you, but not while hating others that aren’t black.  And if you’re white, never feel that you’re supreme and look down on other races! God chose each of our races for us with divine wisdom, so when you’re angry, aren’t you really being angry at Him for the choice He made?  Look at the Lord’s instruction to the children of Israel…..

“You shall not go about as a slanderer among your people, and you are not to act against the life of your neighbor; I am the LORD. ‘You shall not hate your fellow countryman in your heart; you may surely reprove your neighbor, but shall not incur sin because of him. You shall not take vengeance, nor bear any grudge against the sons of your people, but you shall love your neighbor as yourself; I am the LORD.”‭‭Leviticus‬ ‭19:16-18‬

And Paul gave instruction to Titus and made NO distinction between races…..

“Remind them to be subject to rulers, to authorities, to be obedient, to be ready for every good deed, to malign no one, to be peaceable, gentle, showing every consideration for all men.”‭‭Titus‬ ‭3:1-2

Let me restate the obvious; no one who is white chose that.  No one who is black chose that. No one who is latino chose that. No one who is tall chose that. No one who is short chose that.  No one who is handsome or beautiful chose that. No one who is less than good looking chose that. Don’t be prideful, or ashamed of, or angry about His choices and instead be grateful!  He knows what He is doing!

And that’s the way I see it!
