Quick Acting Police Nab Shoplifters
Southaven, Ms
Southaven Police are working a crime scene on Airways across from Tanger Outlets Mall.
Police were notified shortly after 3 p.m. Monday afternoon that two male blacks had shoplifted armloads of merchandise from the Nike store at Tanger.
Quick responding Southaven Police officers nearby were able to stop the duo before they got very far.
The white four door car with Tennessee tags with the suspects inside barely made it out of the parking lot of the mall when police made a traffic stop on Airways north of Church Road.
One suspect bailed out and ran but the other suspect was taken into custody. Hundreds of dollars of Nike merchandise was recovered by SPD.
Police K-9 units are searching a area north east of Tanger Outlets Mall for the on the run suspect.
Charges are pending.
