President’s Visit Will Interrupt Afternoon Commute

President Trump’s visit to the Landers Center in Southaven tomorrow night is expected to create headaches for afternoon commuters.

The President’s MEGA rally begins at 6:30 p.m. and the doors open at 3:30 p.m. for those with tickets for the event.

Police are expecting large crowds wanting to see the President who is here in support of U.S. Senator Cindy Hyde-Smith.

Crowds of supporters and protesters are also likely to add to the congestion along traffic routes.

As expected traffic will be rerouted around the Landers Center and along the route the President is expected to travel.

Police have put out the following information.

Interstate Traffic…..Expect major delays tomorrow evening, October 2 on I-55.
The interstate will be closed completely at the North Hernando Exit to the 240 exit in Memphis, TN both North and Southbound sides during expected travel times.
Times will be approximately 4:45-5:30 and 7:30-8:15.

Church Road in the vicinity of the Landers Center will also be closed during the visit.

Plan ahead to take alternate routes on your commute home.
