Trump To Rally In Southaven

Southaven, Ms

President Donald Trump has rescheduled a make up rally for Mississippi after having canceled one planned in Jackson weeks ago because of Hurricane Florence.

The rally is a campaign stop for Sen. Cindy Hyde-Smith in an effort to help her hold on to her seat.

The President has relocated this rally to Southaven to be more advantageous for Hyde-Smith, whose fellow Republican challenger state Sen. Chris McDaniel won the GOP stronghold DeSoto County by a wide margin in his failed 2014 run for Senate.

There is a statewide fear from some Republicans that the top two Republicans may split the vote and send a Democrat to Washington.

Hyde-Smith faces McDaniel and Democrats former U.S. Rep. Mike Espy and military veteran Tobey Bartee of Gautier in a Nov. 6 nonpartisan special election.

The event is planned for October 2nd at 7 p.m. at the Landers Center in Southaven and the doors open at 4 p.m.

Admission is free but tickets are required and available at the Trump Website.
