Woman Attacked At Horn Lake Target

A woman was violently attacked Friday afternoon at the Target store in Horn Lake.
Most shoppers would expect to be safe shopping at a neighborhood store in the middle of an afternoon.
But that was not the case today when a female shopper was violently attacked by a man in the middle of a store full of shoppers unprovoked.
A witness reported hearing screams a couple of aisles over from her in the rear of the store.
When she rushed over she saw a woman on the floor covered in blood trying to defend herself from a mostly naked male.
He was on top of her and stabbing her with a metal object. Shoppers were able to restrain the attacker while others gave aid to the victim.
Police say the victim seemed to have been selected at random and a witness reported hearing the man state that he was not trying to kill the woman.
Horn Lake Police secured the scene and the store was closed for a couple of hours while they conducted their investigation.
Horn Lake Police identified the assailant, as Michael Jerome German from Memphis.
He has been charged with aggravated assault and is being held without bond at the DeSoto County Jail.
The Victim was taken by ambulance to a local hospital were she was reportedly treated for non-life threatening injuries to her head and body.
The name of the victim has not been released and it is unknown what triggered the attack.
