A Secure Future

I’ve touched on this before, but a decision I made years ago has given me a very secure future. As a result, when I now gaze toward my future, I have peace. I am no longer worried about finances, or my health, or my fate regarding my employment. It’s amazing, but one decision I made took care of my Financial Portfolio, whatever medical conditions might evolve, and whatever might happen to Governments, the Job Market, and even the Stock Market. One choice took care of ALL of that regarding me and what might happen.

“Impossible”, you say!! “There is no way that one decision took care of ALL those things and what could happen to you in the future!”

Oh my doubting friend, I must disagree! The decision? To turn EVERYTHING over to the Lord.

And TRUST Him.

COMPLETELY!

That is my 5 year plan
My 10 year plan. My plan for retirement. My plan in everything. I have promises from Him that I stand on. They’re in His word. He knows what He is doing. He is in control! He cannot lie like man, so I know that His promises are GOOD promises that I can bank on!! He has instructed me that He knows everything about tomorrow. He knows the future. He knows what will happen to me. And further, He knows what can be done about those problems arising in my future.

I trust Him with everything that will happen to me. I trust Him that He can bring wisdom, intervention, healing, immediate help; and that He can even prevent some things from happening if I’m trusting Him.

The opposites of trust are many.. Opposites like worry, fear, anxiety, stress, sickness, poverty, destruction; these and more can be present when trust is lacking. But trust can eliminate many of those conditions, if not minimize them at the very least.

Yes, things will still happen to me. Bad things do happen to good people. We live in a fallen world, and we live under the curse of sin and decay…..but to have a loving Father watching over me gives me peace at night. It gives me courage to face tomorrow. And it gives me confidence it’s going to be ok in the end. Completely ok!!

Here are just a few of the dozens of scriptures concerning trust…

“Blessed is the man who trusts in the LORD and whose trust is the LORD.”
‭‭Jeremiah‬ ‭17:7‬

“Offer the sacrifices of righteousness, and trust in the LORD.”
‭‭Psalms‬ ‭4:5‬

“”The steadfast of mind You will keep in perfect peace, because he trusts in You.”
‭‭Isaiah‬ ‭26:3‬

“Trust in the LORD with all your heart and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will make your paths straight.”
‭‭Proverbs‬ ‭3:5-6

“Commit your way to the LORD, trust also in Him, and He will do it.”
‭‭Psalms‬ ‭37:5‬

“But as for me, I trust in You, O LORD, I say, “You are my God.””
‭‭Psalms‬ ‭31:14‬

“Trust in the LORD and do good; dwell in the land and cultivate faithfulness.”
‭‭Psalms‬ ‭37:3

“You who fear the LORD, trust in the LORD; He is their help and their shield.”
‭‭Psalms‬ ‭115:11

You can fret and worry if you like, or you also can turn your future over to Him and sleep at night. The choice is yours!
Listen to Jesus’ own words as He counsels us concerning our futures…

“”For this reason I say to you, do not be worried about your life, as to what you will eat or what you will drink; nor for your body, as to what you will put on. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothing? Look at the birds of the air, that they do not sow, nor reap nor gather into barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not worth much more than they? And who of you by being worried can add a single hour to his life? And why are you worried about clothing? Observe how the lilies of the field grow; they do not toil nor do they spin, yet I say to you that not even Solomon in all his glory clothed himself like one of these. But if God so clothes the grass of the field, which is alive today and tomorrow is thrown into the furnace, will He not much more clothe you? You of little faith! Do not worry then, saying, ‘What will we eat?’ or ‘What will we drink?’ or ‘What will we wear for clothing?’ For the Gentiles eagerly seek all these things; for your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things. But seek first His kingdom and His righteousness, and all these things will be added to you. “So do not worry about tomorrow; for tomorrow will care for itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.”
‭‭Matthew‬ ‭6:25-34

And the writer of Hebrews noted this…

“Make sure that your character is free from the love of money, being content with what you have; for He Himself has said, “I WILL NEVER DESERT YOU, NOR WILL I EVER FORSAKE YOU,” so that we confidently say, “THE LORD IS MY HELPER, I WILL NOT BE AFRAID. WHAT WILL MAN DO TO ME?””
‭‭Hebrews‬ ‭13:5-6

So in summary, reflect on Solomon’s words….

“So that your trust may be in the LORD, I have taught you today, even you.”
‭‭Proverbs‬ ‭22:19

And that’s the way I see it!
