Hernando Woman Shoots Intruder

The DeSoto County Sheriff’s Department deputies are investigating a shooting that happened on Sunset Drive in Hernando.
“A woman shot a man trying to get into her home early Friday morning”, Sheriff Bill Rasco said.
According to the the Sheriff, the woman was home when the man tried to make his way inside around 2:30 a.m.
She grabbed a gun and opened fire, shooting through the door and hitting the suspect.
Rasco said, the victim, who he did not name, had lived with the woman until recently.
He was taken to Baptist Desoto but was transferred to The Regional Medical Center.
He was listed as stable with a gunshot to the arm. The woman was not injured.
The investigation is ongoing.
