Thousands Without Power

Southaven,MS
Severe weather has caused a lot of problems for DeSoto County over night.
Thousands have been left with out power and debris scattered all over the county because of high winds.
It appears to just be straight line winds and not a tornado.
Mayor Mussellwhite released a statement on Facebook saying, “City first responders and emergency crews have been working through the night and morning to clear public streets from wind damage.
Entergy is working to restore power throughout the City, but a main transformer has been damaged which could cause a lengthy delay, potentially as long as two days.”
At one point Energy posted on their website as many as 6,000 without power in DeSoto.
Goodman Road at I 55 was blocked by down power lines and People were making runs to Home Depot to purchase generators.
