As the month of April begins the election season is running full speed ahead.
Wednesday night John David Wheeler was greeting his followers at Vino Vanity in Southaven.
Wheeler is throwing his hat into politics for the first time with him running for Southaven Alderman Ward 5.
Wheeler is well know as the owner of Memphis BBQ Company and Wheeler Homes.
He has a public servants heart and travels all over helping people in their time of need with his Operation BBQ Relief.
In 2014 he was awarded Volunteer of the year for serving over 1,000,000 meals to volunteers, public safety officials and those in need.
A US Army veteran, Wheeler is a past president and board member of the North MS Home Builders Association
and a avid fundraiser for area nonprofits and community organizations.
The election is May 2.
