Horn Lake Police are Investigating A Double Shooting and Suicide

Horn Lake Police are investigating a double shooting and suicide Monday.
Around 10:40 p.m., last night police responded to the 3100 block of Cool Springs Drive. Once on the scene, they found a 57 year old woman and her 16 year old daughter both had been shot.
The woman was pronounced dead on the scene; the 16 year old was flown to the hospital in critical condition.
The investigation led officers to the woman’s ex-husband and the teen’s father, Marvin Verner. DeSoto County Sheriff’s Office deputies went to Verner’s home, where he was found with a self-inflicted gunshot wound. He was pronounced dead on the scene.
Police are calling this domestic at this time and there are no additional suspects.
